Most camera’s cannot be charged through their usb cables. You have to use the charger that came with the camera.

Nope. If the camera is automatically a rechargable camera, then it will come with the charger box and a rechargable battery. Otherwise you just use regular batteries, but you can go out and purchase regular rechargable batteries too which saves money over time. My old camera ATE batteries…

The USB cable is for file transfer only. You charge the battery or the camera with a separate charger. One should have been supplied together with the camera when you bought it.
