Question about digital camera Panasonic DMC FS25N?

Posted on Dec 31, 2009 under Digital news and reports |

I received my new camera today which has 12.1 mp 5 zoom. When I took pictures, they came out as if they have 2 megapixels. I’m using built in memory for taking these pictures I haven’t put a memory card in my camera (I thought it was going to come with the camera but it didn’t).

I watched a video on youtube about this camera and I heard that the memory card will make the camera take pictures to it’s 12.1 mp. I tried calling customer service but they aren’t working.

I was wondering if this is true, that I have to put the memory card for the camera to work at it’s full potential. I was planning on returning it for it’s low quality, but if memory card will solve the problem then I’ll keep it. I’ll buy the card once I make sure if it helps the resolution

  1. the memory card will not make your resolution go up… there might be 2 reasons why you’re shooting at 2MP… the first one I think you might just have your setting setup wrong… look in the manual on how to change the resolution/quality of your pictures… it should fix it…

I’m not sure if the 2nd reason is possible as I do not own the camera or ever used it, but some cameras you can do a digital zoom (instead of optical) which reduces the resolution of the image… you might be in digital zoom "mode"…
