I am looking for a nice digital camera that can take pictures, and record with pause for christmas, and please don’t even say why not just stop the camera, because that’s a pain, i’ve tried. Please reply if you see this and give me links please! XD
I know it is not going to be a quality video recorder, however, has anyone purchased one, checked it out and used it? I am wondering if for a 13 year old boy, would this be a cool gift to tape quick skateboard tricks, go card tricks, and short videos, just boys messin around? I would love to hear from someone who has used it, and how long do the batteries last as well as how many minutes the 1GB SD card will hold of video.

Ok, So I’m applying to Salem State College (WOO!) and I want to major in photography. But they request for our portfolio to be in slides (you know, like for projectors). Are there any places in Alexandria, VA that can do that? And what do i ask? also where can i buy a clear plastic folder designed to hold slides? HELP! Thank You

I’m not sure which is the best for me, I’m just looking for general photograph capabilities people, scenes, landscape, some macro/micro, but nothing complicated…both seem like great choices but neither is the clear cut winner. Which do you think is the best? If you have a different suggestion please include the specs and price, as well as the link where I can find it. THANKS!!!
I’ve been looking at the Panasonic DMC-FX580, and so far, I love it because it has full manual controls. (Well, mostly)
Only thing is, I’ve read it has mediocre/bad image quality. I’m torn in half. Can anyone vouch for either side? And if the image quality is bad, can anyone recommend a similarly priced digital camera with (almost) full manual control. (Like shutter timings, aperture control, bracketing, etc).

Just bought my 1st camera and I have no idea what memory card to get. Would the SanDisk 1GB Secure Digital Card be compatible with Nikon Coolpix S203? It’ll hold enough pics but will the speed be fast between captures with just a regular card?
