Which LCD TV series have capabilities of viewing digital video via USB flash drive?

Posted on Dec 29, 2009 under Digital news and reports | 3 Comments

I am thinking of getting a LCD TV (32" - 40") and was wondering which brands/series have the capability to read digital video files (e.g., .mpeg, .avi, .mkv) off of a USB flash drive.

I currently have a 46" Samsung, and its onboard multimedia tool can read these video files. Unfortunately, there is no smaller version in this series and the lower series do not have this capability.

Most importantly, I would like for it to be able to play .mkv files as these tend to have the highest resolution (and my PS3 can’t read it).

digital multimeter doubt?

Posted on Dec 29, 2009 under Digital news and reports | 6 Comments

a multimeter can read ac voltage till 750V,but my doubt is can a multimeter detect RF waves, for example when the probe is touched to the output of a FM transmitter,(multimeter set to read AC voltage),will it show and value maybe (-) or (+) any value even 0.02. or will it not give any readings.
and doing this does the RF wave damage the digital multimeter?

NEED Advice on what digital recorder to buy? (spy/surveillance wearing a wire to university office)?

Posted on Dec 29, 2009 under Digital news and reports | 3 Comments

Hey guys. I am a college student in a westernized tiger economy and I am going to get information from my uni departments about graduation bureaucratic red tape stuff, I need a digital recorder and a microphone to get clear sound quality so i can tape our conversation

The reason why i want to record my conversation with the bureaucrats is so that i can prove that their english is crap, and that they are ineffective communicators. Because i swear i have been given conflicting information more than 3 times concearning graduation procedures.

So if anyone can recommend a good digital recorder and the type of mic i can use, i’d gladly appreciate it.

Cheers mates.

PS3 will not play dolby digital surround sound! Help?

Posted on Dec 29, 2009 under Digital news and reports | 2 Comments

I am hooking up my ps3 through a HDMI cable to my T.V. and I have an optical cable going to my surround sound receiver from my T.V. (which is also an upconvert DVD player, which that does go through dolby digital)…… When I play ANYTHING on the PS3, whether it be a game or a blu-ray it is all 2-channel and not dolby digital. But when I plug in a movie in the upconvert DVD player, it works with dolby digital.

Also, I have tried messing around with the settings on the PS3, but I am not really sure on how to get it to work!

How do you develop digital pictures?

Posted on Dec 29, 2009 under Digital news and reports | 7 Comments

Hi,

I’ve never developed digital pictures before, so I don’t know much about it. Is it a "do-it-yourself" sort of thing, or someone prints out the pictures for you? I saved all my pictures in a CD…do places like Walmart still accept CDs or do they require USB, or some other newer technology? I’d like to print out pictures to give to my parents for Christmas, so I also want to know how long these pictures usually take to develop? And what if the pictures are not the right resolution? If it is "do-it-yourself", will pictures with wrong resolutions still be developed? If it’s not do-it-yourself, do the people at the counter tell you they can’t print it, and they’ll just select the ones they can? Sorry for so many questions, but any help will be appreciated!
