Should I Buy A Digital Voice Recorder?
Posted on Jan 27, 2010 under Digital news and reports |I have a micro cassette voice recorder right now that I use for college lectures and just recording my own thoughts. But I wonder if a digital voice recorder (which I could use to transfer voice files to my computer) would be better. But the best one I saw was around $60, and I don’t know if it’s worth shelling out that much for an updated product.

when u’re a student, every buck counts XD
i think if hte old one works, stick with it. electronics get updated every so often, so dont bother chasing after them. UNLESS its really gonna help you if you can transfer the files to ur comp., but i think u shouldnt get a new one.

Definitely worth it in my opinion. I had one for uni and it was awesome. I recorded lectures and stored them on the computer. Never listened to half of them but if there’s something you go back to in study where you realise you drifted off in the lecture it’s very useful. Also, the amount you would spend on tapes and batteries is recouped in the price of a DVR as you can charge them on the computer. I say yes, go for it. Sound quality is better and heaps more recording options.

you should, new digital voice recorders have better microphones and hardware than tapes, and they are way easier to transfer to computer which makes them very handy for any thing, I’m a musician and im planning to buy one to capture those moments where you dont have anything to record with and you just had a great idea and then you forget it cause you couldnt record it.

If the existing works and you dont feel the need then do not shell money aimlessly. Even if you want one I recommend you to buy a chinese mp4 player, best bet is a ipod nano or classic lookalike (will cost around as less as $20), dont ever pay greater than that for a chinese, they usually have a voice recording function, and what’s more you can see great videos and pictures during a boring class, hehehe

I use the Olympus Digital Voice Recorder (VN 6200PC). It helps upload files directly to my PC. Easy file management. I like it. Price: $49.95 .http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002DSHMA8?ie=UTF8&tag=digitsy-marina-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002DSHMA8I
