What Digital SLR camera do you recommend that is around the £300 mark?

Posted on Jan 06, 2010 under Digital news and reports | 94 Comments

That’s around $500 (US Dollars)

I’ve had a Ricoh GX200 over the past year, which I absolutely love. I’ve got used to all the Manual features on that, so think I’m ready to step up to a DIGITAL SLR.

I had 3 new digital cameras (they were to have been gifts) stolen from my luggage on Lufthansa. What can I do?

Posted on Jan 06, 2010 under Digital news and reports | 16 Comments

This happened 2 weeks ago. I flew from LAX to Munich to Istanbul. I had a LONG delay in Munich. My bags didn’t arrive in Istanbul with me, but were delivered to me the next day. Opened the suitcase, the cameras were gone! = Three disappointed children on Christmas morning. In the suitcase were documents indicating that it had been opened by both the TSA in the States and by security in Germany. I have filed a complaint with Lufthansa, but have not heard a word from them. The credit card with which the cameras were purchased does not cover theft from checked baggage (that’s helpful!). I know I shouldn’t have put valuables in my checked baggage, but they allow you so little room in your carryon! If something like this has happened to you, what did you do to get your money back?

I am looking for a fibre optic cable and i found a cheap one that says PREMIUM 6FT Optical Toslink Cable w/ Metal Fancy Connector. The description is: This is a new fiber optic audio optical cable for use Dolby Digital Receiver, Digital Signal Processor, DAT Machines, Divx Player, DVD player, CD player, DSS receiver, DAT player/recorder, MINI Disc player/recorder, Sony Playstation 2, XBox, ALESIS, or any components that use normal full-size TOSLink connectors.

# FEATURES HEAVY 8.0mm JACKET Helps Prevent Cable Damage and Provides Additional Strain Relief
# GOLD-PLATED FERRULE Prevents Corrosion and Provides for Maximum Protection of the Fiber Tip
# PRECISION POLISHED FIBER TIPS for Maximum Signal Transfer (includes tip protectors)
# TOSLINK Connectors at Both Ends

So will this work with my PS3/HD box to my plasma tv/sound system and will this give me the best quality. Also is there any difference between glass vs. plastic fibre optics?
