Will books be completely digital in the future?

Posted on Jan 22, 2010 under Digital news and reports | 23 Comments

I think they will be, I think eventually all books & their artwork will be digital in ebook form in the future, but I’d like to know what others think. You don’t have to agree with me, I just want to hear what others think. :)

Digital camera takes black pictures.?

Posted on Jan 22, 2010 under Digital news and reports | 29 Comments

Okey well I dropped my camera while holding my baby brother a few days ago. The camera dropped out of my pocket and when I turned it on to take a picture it took 2 just fine. The next day I tried taking some pictures and all I could see was a black screen so I checked it and everything was fine I could see the last pictures taken the menu worked fine the lens wasnt broken or anything. My dad said its probably the shutter box that broke but hes not sure. What could be wrong with my camera? Is it something that can be repaired? My camera is a GE A730 camera with 7 Megapixel. Please help.

is every important section of a digital computer controlled by a powerful microprocessor?

Posted on Jan 22, 2010 under Digital news and reports | 20 Comments

Arithmatic and Logic Unit(ALU) ,Disc Operating System(DOS),Networking section running on TCP/IP, Main Memory,Keyboard,Monitor,Mouse, Printer,Audio system—all these are important parts of modern Digital Computer. Each runs a very detailed Software Program and related micro programs to process incoming and outgoing data of its own special category. Each should have its Memory Unit,Registers and Output system. All these sections are like the Departments of a university(ex:physics, chemistry, biology, philosophy, maths departments etc). Each department has a professor -in-charge.Working as over all in-charge is the vice-chancellor(president) of the university. Similarly controlling over all the sections of the digital computer is the chief microprocessor of the CPU. Connecting and disconnecting the" bus" circuits (i.e.digital data transmission routes) and working automatically with the help of the OS(the all pervading and all powerful software of OS).
Am I correct in this picturization of internal structure and working of a computer and in saying that each section is tightly controlled in every activity by its very powerful microprocessor chip?

How do I get the videos off my digital camera and onto my computer?

Posted on Jan 22, 2010 under Digital news and reports | 18 Comments

I got a Panasonic ZS3 Lumix for Christmas. I took a video, and it is visible in my camera’s memory along with all my photos on this memory stick. However, when I insert the stick into my computer, none of the available folders give me my videos. It’s all just my pictures. I even tried the USB it came with and connecting directly from my camera to my computer, and the same thing happened.

Anybody know how to get my videos on my computer? There has to be *some* way to do it; there’s really no point in even having the video function if you can’t get it on your computer…

I want to start photography but i just have a normal digital camera. I heard its best to get a camera that allows you to change the shutter speed. Does this mean getting a SLR? What cameras are best for taking more artistic photographs?

Does anyone have, or know anything about, Single Vision HD "Digital" lenses for glasses?

Posted on Jan 22, 2010 under Digital news and reports | 30 Comments

I new new glasses, and the Dr. has recommended I get the SV HD lenses. I have a -3.00 and -4.25 prescription, and the Dr. says the HD lenses will help with my peripheral vision. I have not been able to find out much about these online. I was told by the Dr. that it is a new technology, and he just began offering these this week. Does anyone have them? And if so, are they worth the extra expense? I have been quoted $338 for SV HD Hi-Index lenses plus transitions and anti-glare. That price does not include the frames. I would love some feedback from anyone who might have single vision HD lenses before I make my purchase. I can get a regular pair of Hi-Index lenses and frames at WalMart for half the cost of just the lenses alone at the Optometrist’s Office. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
