Yes, you can use 35mm lenses on today’s digital slrs, provided that they are of the same brand (or in the case of Canon, old manual lenses won’t mount). Depending how old the lens is, you may not be able to meter or autofocus, though.
You can use Canon EF lenses on Canon EOS bodies, film or digital.*
You can use Nikon F-mount lenses on Nikon DSLRs (with some caveats for older lenses or those who power autofocus from a motor in the body)**
You can use Pentax K mount lenses on Pentax and Samsung DSLRS (though not Samsungs new micro format interchangable lens camera)***
You can use Minolta MAF lenses on Konica Minolta DSLRs (only found used now) and Sony Alpha DSLRS****
*Canon models from the rebel up to the 7D have a 1.6x crop, this makes the lenses behave as if they are 1.6x the focal length. The Canon 1D series has a 1.3x crop which will make lenses slightly more telephoto. Canon 5D series and 1DS series are full frame and the lens will behave as it would on a 35mm EOS camera.
**On most Nikon DSLRs up to the D300s you will get a 1.5x crop factor. On the D700, D3 and D3x you will get no crop and so the lens will behave as if on a 35mm nikon.
***You will get a 1.5x conversion on Pentax and Samsung DSLRs
****With a 1.5x crop on all but the a850 & a900, both of which are full frame.

If it is a compatable mount.
