Both are fantastic drives, all to do with personal preference, out of experience with computer hard and 15 years of it, i would go western digital. These 2 products are very robust and reliable and both have great after sales support. GO WD! The other thing with these is what you have to choose and i cant choose for your is the cosmetic look. As there external desktop drives how they are going to look on your desk thats your decision.

I bought the 1-TB Seagate and it went complete failure in 14-months..I’m moving my storage back to 80-GBs..useing external enclosures made by Belkin..

In my experiance..large HD drives are not secure or reliable..they are not compatible with power supplies..
Mine started making noises about 3-months ago..it was making loud banging noises..then it just died one day–it had become noisey..I removed the files and re-formated the 1-TB drive..and ran the DSK Check UP..program..there were no messages..and it continued to be somewhat noisey(banging noises)..but I did quiet it down some..
Mine was a Serial-ata drive..MOLEX Connector–used for internal storage..I lost 2-folders..which isn’t all that bad..

I say NO..large drives are gimmicks.

I can see you don’t keep up with the times. If you did you would know that segate bought western digital some time back so i believe you will not see a bit of difference providing they are both 7200 rpm.

We guess for the present time i am going to be satisfied with book-marking as well as introducing the Feed in order to our Search engines consideration. I enjoy brand new improvements and can talk about this particular site along with my Myspace class….
