Any suggestions for a good digital camera?

I am looking for a good quality digital camera that will last…that I don’t have to mess around editing pics on the computer…I want it to be sorta small, not huge….it is mostly for taking pics of people and scenery….I want to be able to capture shots quick, like candid shots. My budget is around $250.00 but is a little flexible.

I have SanDisk, 4g, and i stored all my pictures and documents on this memory card when i restored my computer back to factory settings, when i went to put the pics back on my computer, it would not open unless i formated it (therefore losing all my pics) i tried formating, but it wouldn’t even do that…is there any way i can recover my pics and docs from this card?

Western Digital Hard drive not working with PS3 correctly. Audio and Video out of sync.?

I have a 3rd gen PS3. It is one of the 40gb versions.
40 gb is not enough, i knew that before buying it. That is why I ordered a 640gb Western Digital Scorpio Blue drive to install as an upgrade. I read reviews before buying to make sure it would fit and work well with my PS3.
I received the HDD, installed it into the PS3, installed my backup off of my 40gb drive… and fired it up.
At first everything went well… I put a bunch of movies, music, etc onto it.
Then just last night I was playing my brand new copy of Uncharted 2… and noticed that during the video sequences that the audio was significantly behind the video.
It was not happening while watching movies on the Blu-ray or DVD… only during the game.
So, I tried my other newly purchased game, LittleBig Planet.
This time, during gameplay the audio would skip as if I were listening to a scratched CD.

I called Sony.
They said they didnt know what the problem is, and will have to get my unit replaced.
Before I send it to Sony, I wanted to test a few things.

I put my old 40gb hard drive back in… and just like magic… all the games played just as they should.
I put the 640gb hard drive in and then reformatted it.

I then set it back up.
Tried to play the games again… and it is doing the same thing.

So, I have determined that it is the new hard drive.

I called WD for support, they said that the drive comes in NTFS, and will be needed to be formatted to FAT 32… and then should work just fine.
I somehow doubt that as I know the PS3 will format my drive once I install it… but, i will do as the CS rep asked me to do and try this method.

Does anyone have any suggestions or idea what is causing this or could fix it?

I reformated my drive to Fat32… Put it in the PS3… And started up the game. And yup, the sound is still off.
Looks like I bought a 100$ drive for nothing.

I’m just going to put it in a portable enclosure and connect it via USB. I will just have to live with 40 gb directly in my PS3.

When a check (payroll) is cashed, does the bank keep a copy (digital or otherwise) of the check?

Just to be clear: I have a checking account w/ Bank of America. My Boss paid me weekly for 2009, and i always went to the teller and cashed my checks. Due to Tax season, I want a copy of those checks that i cashed, ….not checks that I’ve written out.
