It really depends on what you need out of the camera. Studio, fashion and or landscape photogs might mention something really exotic like Hassleblad or PhaseOne which are medium format DSLRs. But if you are a sports photographer, these cameras are entirely too slow for anything but a staged shot. With this in mind, like most professional sports photograpers, you are far more likely to end up considering the Canon 1D Mark IV or Nikon D3/D3s. And good luck finding super telephoto lenses for a Hassleblad HD4 or Leica S2. Years ago, there were a few truly long lenses available for the Pentax 67 system but, a 600mm lens in that format is the same a 300mm in 35mm and no where near as practical.

It has got to be a Hasselblad. Why? Megapixel count maybe but the best part is its ability to switch from film to digital and back in a snap.
