I have a Canon ZR90 digital camcorder. How do I download video to my computer? I have Windows 7.?

i think there might be a way. go to the shop where you bought it from and ask them to give you a cable for windows 7. this is an option. another option is that you install the software windows 7 and then try it…..hope it helped……..

The Canon ZR90 camcorder uses miniDV tape to record high quality DV format video. To get the video from the digital tape to the computer, use a firewire cable (not USB) to connect the camcorder’s DV port (not USB) to the computer’s firewire port (not USB). With the camcorder in Play mode, use the video editor (MovieMaker) to "capture" the video to the computer.
You do not need anything on that manufacturer supplied optical disc.
In this context, firewire, DV, IEEE1394 and i,.LINK are all the same thing.
You did not tell us what computer hardware you are using. If your computer does not have a firewire port, hopefully it has an available expansion slot so you can add one.
USB-to-firewire cable/adapter/converter things won’t work.
