What happened to the flash of my digital camera?
Posted on Mar 06, 2010 under Digital news and reports |My Sony digital camera won’t flash anymore. Before it went out, I still had three or four pictures taken. Then when I clicked for a picture, the flash was not present. I turned my device off and on but then the flash is still not there. What happened? Did the flash die because of over use? I mean, i didn’t break it. It never fell on the ground. It just suddenly didn’t function. Please help. 
Edit:
No my camera does not use disposable batteries. It’s battery is different. I charged it well but still the flash doesn’t fire.
My flash is set to "ON" all the time but still it doesn’t fire. I’ve tried shooting in the dark but still no flash coming out.

If your camera takes disposable batteries you should try replacing them. Since when these drop below a certain point they won’t have enough voltage to charge up the flash. Even if your camera uses a rechargeable battery I would still recommend charging that up fully.

Every new digital camera I’ve ever heard of has different settings for the flash. usually ‘force flash on’, ‘force flash off’ and ‘auto flash’
Force flash off: flash never fires
Auto Flash: flash fires when the camera thinks it’s needed (dark situation)
force flash on: flash always fires.
Check which one it is on. If it’s on auto, try covering the lens with your hand and taking a photo. The flash should fire.

When I originally commented I clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get four emails with the same comment.
