If you can find one an old 110 camera is best for paranormal activity. Those babies pretty much have a defect in every photo. There will be all kinds of shadows and light flashes you can speculate on.
One note, don’t get one with flash cubes or bulbs, you’ll never be able to find them. A built in flash will give all the spooky defects anyone could want.
They both have advantages and drawbacks. A digital camera is less expensive (no film/developing) and easy to work with. However, there is no evidence to prove that you didn’t photoshop a pic you took. A film camera has a negative, so once the photo has been taken you can prove that the photo is not tampered with. However, film cameras have other problems which might be misinterpreted as paranormal, like double exposures, light leaks, x-ray damage.
Personally, I would just use digital. If people want to say its photoshopped, then its no big deal to me, because me and the people I am investigating with know otherwise and thats good enough for me.
Lilith,I believe that it’s the quality of the film that you are using in the cameras,I’ve always used a digital myself, they seem to work better for me.All the paranormal investigators use them,if you need a site to check out equipment on,go to http://www.ghost-mart.net. This site is very interesting to say the least, hope this helps you out.Tomb Raider.
A digital camera would be best, because with film sometimes you can take one picture over the other, and it appears like ghosts, and sometimes the film can get lid up and destroyed! With a digital camera, you can’t get 2 pictures on top of eachother, so that way you’ll be certain if you’ve photographed a ghost!
Nothing fancy with at least 400 speed film. 800 speed film seems to get the best results outside, and black and white is also something good to try. If you are more experienced photographer you may want to try infrared film. I have seen results from Polaroids but I suggest you only use these along with a 35 mm camera, so you can compare the results. If you use a digital camera make sure you have one with a good flash or a slave flash. I use a 35 mm camera, with automatic film advance, on investigations. I have used Fuji film primarily but I have also used Kodak and a department store brands with similar results. When you develop them you do not need to go to a camera shop, the local drug store or department store is fine. Let them know you want all the pictures developed "As Is", so that you get the pictures that they might think are bad ones. These "bad ones" are normally your best ecto-mist photos.
The main reason I like using film is because you have the negative as proof, to show that the photo has not been tampered with. Digital cameras have loads of memory, and the technology gets awesome photos, but no negative to show that the photo has not been altered by Photoshop.
You know, this is the real killer for the "i can see ghosts" claim or any other claims of visual paranormal activities. What is a camera? How does it work? What is an eye and how does it work? Without going into detail, an eye and a camera registers light. Now, some of you claim to have "the ability" to see ghosts/paranormal things, but you also claim that you can take pictures of these things. If you can register information of ghosts for example with a technical device like a camera then what need does one have of any special abilities? If a photo can be taken of a ghost the ghost is just as physical as a rock or any other object since it has reflected light off of it’s surface. (it reflects light and can travel through walls maintaining it’s shape…hmmm interesting physics ) But i suppose your special abilities effects the camera when you take the picture - your magic fingers does the trick, so that ONLY you can take pictures of ghosts, right?

I think a Rechargeable digital is about the best for paranormal investigating as it’s nearly impossible to fake the photos.
