How can I play an old DV Digital Video Tape?

Its a tape of my bf as a child and we were wondering what’s that VHS tape called, the one where you can put the mini tapes in it and play on a VHS player? Its the little mini 60 digital video tape. Please help, I really appreciate it.

Analog, VHS-c tapes. You can play these on a VCR if you have an adapter.

The VHS tape you’re thinking of is called VHS-C. No other kind of tape can be played in an adapter on a VHS player, you would need to get the proper player for that tape.

if its a miniDV 60 minute DVC tape, then it is digital and won’t play in a VHS analog deck. miniDV came out in the mid-90s. If the recording is more than 15 years old, then its not likely to be miniDV.
VHS-C are small sized cassettes that can be adapted to play in VHS, but they are analog and only 20 minutes at SP. There is no such thing as a 60 minute VHS-C tape. VHS-C came out in the mid-80s as a response to Video8, another analog mini sized cassette format that came out in 1981. Most Video8 cassettes were 120 minutes, but some 60s were sold too.
There are no adaptors for either Video8 or miniDV, they are simply just the wrong size to play in VHS.
