Is my husband using his digital camera as a web cam?
Posted on Mar 30, 2010 under Digital news and reports | 18 CommentsMy husband has recently had his camera next to his computer. There is really no need in him doing this. We do not have a web cam but have found out that you can also use a digital for a cam. I don’t know how to find what he is doing with it, any suggestions? I do believe that he is on the web searching and chatting. I have no way to get into his computer.

Looking for a Digital Notepad?
Posted on Mar 30, 2010 under Digital news and reports | 22 CommentsI may be a bit off in how I named the item I am looking for but I will do my best to try and explain what I want.
I am looking for a notepad that will let me write directly on the screen and then let me review the notes I made at any time without plugging into a computer. Those notes that I have viewed I then have the ability to go in an edit them at any time. If I want to print then I have no problem plugging into a PC downloading them to it and then printing from there.
I have founds loads of Notepads that require a piece of paper to be on it, then you write on the paper and it then saves a copy you can view on the computer . (I do NOT want this)
Other options I have found involve buying a horribly expensive tablet PC. However that has more features than I care about (I just want a notepad) and costs a heck of a lot more than I want to spend.
As a recap:
Digital notepad with LCD screen
Ability to read / write / edit directly on the pad without need for a PC.
Thanks if anyone can help me out.

Comcast Preferred Basic and Other Analog-to-Digital Issues?
Posted on Mar 30, 2010 under Digital news and reports | 82 CommentsComcast ‘Basic’ and ‘Digital Preferred’ I believe respectively comprise channels 1-14—skipping through about channel 102—and then continuing upward (not counting premium and HBO-type movie channels). The middle channels are, I believe, called ‘Preferred Basic’; these used to be semi-premium analog channels costing $46.25/month alone. My question is this: is FOX News, which exists both as channel 75 Preferred Basic AND as channel 196 Digital Preferred . . . is FOX News slated to disappear from the Digital Preferred lineup (196) when all Comcast channels go 100% digital? Right now I get channel 196, but I won’t pay $46/month just for FOX News and two or three HD versions of Preferred Basic channels.
