Image size on my digital camera?

can someone tell me about these and how each one would affect the picture? Thanks!

7M - 7 Megapixels — This is what you should keep your camera setting on all of the time, unless your tight on memory card space. Megapixels simply mean "How big you can print."
3:2 — That’s the photo ratio. This is "more square" photo, nad the 16:9 is "more longer rectangle, or "wide screen"
