I know how to create a VIRIN code, I’m just not sure how to get the code into the media.

hi, our next door neighbor gave us this camera its a Kodak easy-share dx3215 zoom digital camera they only gave us the camera with the battery inside the battery was dead so we figured we would need to buy a new one, but only after i threw the battery away i searched directions on the computer and it says it came with a charging dock to charge the battery, we have no battery and no charger and i was wondering if we could buy a battery and then buy a charger later? or do we HAVE to have the exact battery and charger it came with, any help is appreciated thanks
