Will a 4 in 1 universal remote work on a digital signal converter box?

Posted on Mar 08, 2010 under Digital news and reports | 2 Comments

I want to consolidate a TV, stereo/tuner , and my digital signal converter box onto one universal remote. I have been told that the remote that comes with the digital signal converter box ( antennae TV) is the only remote that I can use. What is the AUX selection for on the universal remote then ???? I know you get what you pay for but is a mid range Wal-Mart uni remote going to work if its a 3 or 4 in 1 ?

Which is better: Comcast Digital Voice or traditional Verizon?

Posted on Mar 08, 2010 under Digital news and reports | 4 Comments

Help me choose between Comcast Dig. Voice and traditional Verizon landline service. No fancy features needed, just want Caller ID. I have never dealt with any VoIP services. Please share your experiences with digital phone service, good or bad:

- How is the sound quality compared with traditional Verizon?
- How high is the monthly charge once "the deal" ends?
- Many dropouts? Interruptions? Outages?
- Customer service?
- Any other problems?

Personally, I think I would prefer a traditional Verizon landline. Convince me to try Digital Voice, or convince me to avoid it!

What is the best digital camera available in the $100 - $150 range? (more details available)?

Posted on Mar 08, 2010 under Digital news and reports | 2 Comments

I would like to take fairly professional-quality pictures, but definitely can not afford a DSLR camera/lenses/etc for the time being. I currently have an old 3.2 MP Kodak Easyshare (which still takes fair quality pictures, though a little fuzzy) and a Nikon Coolpix s220 (with worse quality than my old Kodak!) Thanks in advance! :)

Can 911 be dialed on a digital (Internet) phone?

Posted on Mar 08, 2010 under Digital news and reports | 3 Comments

I have a land line phone, but my ISP has talked me into going for digital phone service. Now I’ve heard that you can’t call 911 directly with a digital phone. Is this just an urban legend? If not, how can 911 be reached? Will a digital phone slow down my computer Internet connection?

How to find wide lens for Canon Digital Rebel XT 350d?

Posted on Mar 08, 2010 under Digital news and reports | 3 Comments

I have a Canon Rebel EOS DSLR XT 350d. I’m looking for wide lens. I looked on amazon and I don’t know which one to pick. I haven’t looked at BH Photography yet. I just want to know which lens to get and without trying it on my camera.
I can’t afford anything too pricey. Something in the 300 and below range works for me.
