I would say nothing more than $700. I’m mostly looking for a Nikon, but Canon is okay. I was looking at the Nikon D40, but dpreview said it was a “point and shoot SLR” and i was kind of confused on how something could be a point and shoot but also an SLR. the description made it sound kind of off putting. in your opinion, what is the best cheap but nice digital SLR out on the market right now?

The camcorder doesn’t work but it has a hard drive that seems to be well protected and dry.

Since we don’t have any local outfits….and I am not particularly fond of using wal-mart to get digital prints, I have been looking at some of the online companies such as Shutterfly, Snapfish, Mpix and Whcc, does anyone have any experience with them or am I overlooking a good one to use?

Im starting to do my own photography and editing. I have an Hp Camera, but am not satisifed with it at all. Can anyone reccomend a good digital camera that takes great quality pics. I know the more megapixels the better. Can anyone else give me some good advice about cameras and which ones are the BEST!

I bought some cheap rabbit ears at radio shack. I forgot the name of them but its a weird triangle looking thing for a base, then two long antennas coming out of the back.

I’m not looking for anything expensive but what is important to me is that it takes pictures quickly. I had a camera where if you took the flash off it took maybe 4 seconds for it to save the picture. It doesn’t have to be totally amazing detail. I’m mostly looking to take pictures of friends and scenery. And I really don’t want to spend hundreds. Thanks
Right now I have a Nikon coolpix. I'm not sure of the exactly model but it might be 5200. The picture quality is good but it takes so long between pictures. It takes longer without the flash than with it and I look awful with flash lol
I don't mind it lagging in between pictures for a a second or two but my camera will seriously sometimes take 4-10 seconds between pictures.
